Info about Cookies
Hi Visitor, I just want to inform you about cookies and how I use them.
snille.net uses cookies for "theme information" (Max 24h or end of session*), "last viewed page" information (end of session*) and "last visited page date" to keep up with if you have seen the latest updates on a page (10 years).
The "theme information" is used to be able to continue with the same theme when reading different information pages on snille.net. If I did not store the theme information, the "original" theme would be used as soon as you switched information page. The selected theme will be valid for 24 hours max or the end of the session* and then the original theme will be used again.
The "last viewed page" information is used when changing themes. If you change the theme when you are viewing the "news" page, you will again end up on the "news" page when the page is reloaded with the new theme. This is the only time the cookie is used. The cookie will expire when the session* ends.
The "last visited page date" cookie just saves the date and time you last visited each page of my homepage, so that when you come here the next time, you can easily see on the menu what pages has been updated since last visit.
You don't have to use cookies to view the pages; it's just for some of the functions to work correctly. If you disable cookies the "selectable" themes will stop working for more then "one" page. Other then that the page can be viewed without problems with cookies disabled.
* End of session is basically when you close your browser.
