SSPP - Snilles Simple Party Planner
This is a simple tool for planning a small to medium (about 200 people) party.
The idea to create this system was requested of my sister because she (we) where planning a party for my stepfathers 60th birthday. She asked me if i could make a type of list that more the one person could update from different places. The problem was that up until now she had been sending excel sheets around. But then of course the problem is obvious, only the person with the latest version of the spreadsheet could add new people to the list. And with more the 1 person adding... That becomes a problem. :)
So, the reason you all understand now.
The second thing was of course that the same type of list could maybe also include some type of "To do" list. That way you could see what people that where planning the party had already thought of and of course also see the procedures of those "To do"s.
So the second part was also created...
This is basically the whole story for the project. I created a simple layout with some buttons and lists... From there to what became the first "usable" version where about 48 hours of programming. After this of course the development continues... I program mostly in PHP but also some in JavaScript. And, I have to thank my brother as well. Always when I'm stuck in some stupid problem that I can't figure out. I just call him and he sends over tow lines of code that basically solves the problem that I've been banging my head about for the last 2 hours... Just like that... Not fair! :)
